COMMUNITIES OF HOPE
I have just come from the 10th Annual Prayer Breakfast in Brussels. I do want to thank Beryl McNamee for securing an invitation for me.
This gathering continues to grow in size & influence! It is becoming more & more a ‘community of hope’ for the European Parliament & the European Commission.
The main speaker this year was Jan Peter Balkenende, who serves as the Prime Minister for the Netherlands. Mr. Balkenende spoke openly about his personal faith & how he was convinced that a peaceful society must be built on the values of Christian faith – especially love, acceptance & a commitment to promoting peace.
In some way he encouraged us to build ‘communities of hope’ in every family, neighborhood & nation. How different would our world be if we could make that a reality!
I sat with people who are making every effort to do this & I want to join them in this task!
How about you?

* The cover of my invitation had this quote, ‘The greatest question of our time is not communism versus individualism, not Europe versus America, not even the East versus the West: It is whether men can live without God’. (Will Durant)
