‘A Day Invested’ – That’s What I’ll Take!
Last Sunday was a very long day!
Ruthanne & I were in Sweden for ministry & the day began at 630 am & ended just past midnight!
We got to church early for a ‘Family Day’ service, had a quick lunch, met with a few people from our international community & then went on a 3 hour bus trip with the church choir for a 6:00 pm concert at the Pentecostal church in Värnamo. Can I quickly add that 6 hours on the bus with a Swedish choir is very fun – but it’s still 6 hours on a bus!
They had about 70 in the choir/band, featuring a gospel group, great soloists & a typical Swedish choir sound! I went along to close the concert with an invitation for prayer. It was so nice to share ministry with our Swedish friends, but it was a long day!
I began to think about other long days & what I realized is that when I waste a day trying to get a project done I feel tired & abit like a failure. If I spend the day doing something that is not really that important to me I feel tired & abit of frustration. However, if I invest my day in things eternal I do feel tired but with a great deal of fulfillment!
Day wasted, day spent or day invested?
If I can choose I know what I will take – ‘A Day Invested’!
