Desire Born Out Of Desperation … Shouldn’t It Be The Other Way Around??

Have you noticed how we so often get things backwards?

You know what I mean

  • We remember things we should forget & forget things we should remember
  • We train ourselves to lead & yet never learn to follow
  • We allow desire to be born out of desperation rather than desperation to be born out of desire!

Let’s take a look at that last one!

The tendency towards this is well documented in the scriptures & well established in the heart of our society as well!

We find ourselves in a desperate situation for which there is no easy solution & in that moment we express deep desire for God – perhaps not really for Him but at least for His help!

‘Desire Born Out Of Desperation … Shouldn’t It Be The Other Way Around??’

How wonderful would it be if we could go beyond this to something even greater!

What if we lived with such a desire for God that it gave birth to a desperation in our hearts for more of Him!

Desperation born out of desire rather than desire born out of desperation!

When that happens the focus can be all about Him rather than all about us!

Certainly this kind of response would make us more stable & would undoubtedly be more satisfying to God!

I really want to get this one right!

How about you?
