How Can I Say Thanks!

By Terry Hoggard

Andrae-crouch   Does the name Andrae Crouch ring a bell for you?

If you have had any connection with a church or followed the American Gospel music scene, then you know that he is a Christian artist who writes songs that are full of soul and deep passion.

One of his well-known songs is, "My Tribute' and it captures for me the essence of what I want to say on this Thanksgiving Day!

How can I say thanks
For the things you've done for me
Things so undeserved
Yet You gave to prove your love to me
And the voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude
All that I am and ever hope to be
I owe it all to Thee

To God be the glory, to God be the glory
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done
With His blood He has saved me
And with His power He reached down and raised me
Oh To God be the glory,
For the things He has done

Just let me live my life
And let it be pleasing Lord to Thee
And should I gain any praise
Let it go to Calvary

With His blood He has saved me
And with His power He reached down and raised me
To God be the glory
For the things He has done

(Catch Andrae as he was back in the day!)

In a voice that sounds nothing like Andrae, I find myself singing this song over and over again as I am getting ready for our Thanksgiving Day celebration here in Brussels.

Every word and phrase resonates with something deep inside of me!

I am so aware of the things that God has done in me and for me and I honestly do not know where to begin or when I should stop!

What I do know is that is that I am singing the song, giving God praise and living with an overflowing heart!

May the same be true for you!

Today … and always!!!
