BECAUSE RELATIONSHIPS MATTER

First Love

Up until a century ago, the term “priorities” (plural) was never used. The word was only used in its singular form – “priority!”

When you think about it, that makes sense. By definition, there can only be one priority.

On contemporary times have we adopted the idea there can be multiple priorities at the same time. This requires leaders to manage them and while acknowledging that all projects are important, some must come first, to enable the others to happen.

I’m reminded of my main priority today – to love God will all my heart, soul, mind and strength.

I know it sounds spiritual but the reality is the Great Commandment cannot just be one of my priorities… it is my priority that enables me to do other priorities!

Jesus reminds us, “Remember your first love. Repent and do the things you did at first.”

Years ago there was a quote that everyone used – “Keep the main thing the main thing.” I always thought it was to be understood but once again we’re reminded that our relationship with God is our priority (singular), then all our other priorities (plural) will fall in place.

We’re praying for you and your team this weekend as we all focus on our priority!
