Empowered 21

I am excited to share with new friends in the FEIC family. What a joy and time of refreshing at the recent retreat in Austria.
I would like to take a moment and share with you about the Empowered 21 Campaign and upcoming opportunities associated with the initiative.
This is a movement born after the centennial celebrations of the Azusa Street Revival when Oral Roberts University convened a gathering of top Pentecostal /Charismatic leaders from around the world. Following from that came a Global Congress held in April 2010 that saw more than 10,000 people of the Spirit-filled movements come together to explore questions like: “What does it mean to be Spirit-empowered in the 21st century?” and “What steps can be taken to engage new generations in the Spirit-filled experience?” (Learn more at www.empowered21.com)
Along with my EME Ministries team here in Greece we are helping to take on administration of the movement’s events and promotion in the Middle East / North Africa region as well as promote awareness in Europe. This has been a significant task, and an honor to serve what for this region has been an almost non-existent opportunity throughout the nearly 3 decades that I have served here – the gathering of like-minded primary leaders of the Spirit-empowered movement. While this is a global enterprise, it is particularly impacting for North Africa and the Middle East in our humble opinion.
One reason for this, and the most exciting thing that I would like to share with you, is the upcoming Global Congress that will take place in Jerusalem and Amman, Jordan, in May, 2015. Spirit-empowered leaders and believers from around the world will converge for an historic gathering. It already promises to be:
The largest gathering of Spirit-Empowered leadership in the history of Christendom,
The largest single gathering of Christians for an event in the history of modern Israel,
A historic event in Christian history, combining elements of the “traditional” and “non-traditional” elements of the Spirit-Empowered Family, as well as some historic bridge work between Jew, Arab and Gentile churches.
Imagine being a part of what could become one of the sentinel moments in Church history, and certainly of the Pentecostal/Charismatic movements in all of their dimensions. Imagine bringing some of your own church family to this major happening, enjoying the discoveries of the Holy Land while enjoying the ministry of some of the world’s most impacting ministers – from Jack Hayford to Reinhard Bonnke to Jentezen Franklin to Billy Wilson. (Side note: myself and my coworker, Brian van Deventer, will also be honored to minister at the event.)
The central focus of the event is Jerusalem, May 20-24, 2015, (see www.Jerusalem2015.com), with a “Pre-Congress” being held in Amman, Jordan on May 15-17, for those who can not enter into Israel. Between the two, there will be a joint, televised worship service from the two sides of the Jordan River at the traditional baptismal site of Jesus – along with a grand number of baptisms! This will be the first time such an event has ever taken place! Yet another historic occasion. Come be a part of one or both of these Congresses. (Personally, I’d love to see you in Jordan!)
