Team Ministry
I was reading Matthew 4 this week and was overwhelmed again at the response of Jesus to people’s needs. He “healed them all” and large crowds followed him throughout the regions.
Then chapter 5 begins and says, “When he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him and he began to teach them…”
It would have seemed natural for Jesus to just continuing ministering to the needs of the crowds but when he sees the crowds he’s motivated to equip his team for ministry.
This is a great picture of the importance of team ministry.
Many times we can become so overwhelmed by the needs of people that we give all our energy instead of multiplying ourselves through involving others.
It’s natural to respond immediately but Jesus models the greater strategy of investing in our teams so that together we can do more.
May God help us as leaders not to chase or be overwhelmed by the urgent needs in front of us, but when we see the crowds, may it remind us that it’s time to invest in our TEAM so that together we can make the greatest spiritual impact in people’s lives!
We’re praying for you and your team this weekend.
