Out of the mouth of babes
I just returned to Vienna on an overnight flight from the US and would you be surprised if I told you a baby sitting 2 rows behind me cried almost the entire night?
Of course, everyone in the surrounding rows were very annoyed by the time we arrived in Vienna but I couldn’t help but feel compassion for the little boys mother who wrestled with him all night.
It all begin to make sense as I overheard her tell the stewardess that he had a bad tooth that was causing him pain and would not eat or drink anything.
As we departed the US and I watched the sun setting out the window, I heard the little boys older sister (maybe 4 or 5) singing these words – “God is bigger than my battles, bigger than my fears…”
For just a moment, I took time to watch the sunset and meditate on those words – “God really is bigger!”
As the sun rose the next morning, the baby was still crying but the little sister began to sing songs again.
As I watched the sunrise, I was reading my devotions from Psalm 113 and was overwhelmed by the words of verse 3: “From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.”
There was a lot of noise and distractions going on in that plane but that little girls worship accompanied the sunset and the sunrise as all creation exalted our Creator.
We’re praying for you and your team this weekend! May God use us to lead people in worship so that the name of the Lord will be praised.
